Welcome to the ZEN Garden Chasing Rainbows Event 🌈 😼

Get ready to dive into a special time-limited event in CryptoKitties: ALL THE ZEN!

Lasting through the end of the Shell Shocked season, this event offers a fun, strategic gameplay experience where you can hatch, breed, sire, and manage Garden Variety Kitties to maximize the power of your ZEN Gardens. Plus, there are exciting Trophies to earn along the way!

Starting the Event

Zen Garden Icon
  • You'll unlock the ZEN Garden Dream Event once you've earned 10 Million ZEN!
  • Tap the new ZEN Garden icon on the right side of your screen to START GARDENING...
  • Your ZEN Garden continues even through rebirth
  • Visit your ZEN Garden each day after the first to receive a Daily Gift of 1 Garden Egg
  • Complete quests each day to earn additional 🍆s and another egg

Your Goal

  • Breed Garden Variety Kitties and put them to work in your ZEN Gardens.
  • Earn more than a 2x ZPS, APS, and Pet Bonus boost with the right Kitties in the right gardens!

Hatching & Breeding

  • Hatch your Garden Eggs to reveal Garden Variety Kitties with unique Cattributes. If you have an unhatched egg with an egg timer, you can wait for the timer to complete or buy a Shell Cracker to tap repeatedly to reduce the wait time!
  • To breed, select two Kitties, use an 🍆, and hatch your new egg. Try to breed Kitties of the same speed together for maximum efficiency. Faster Kitties make better Garden workers!
  • After breeding, Kitties will need to refill their rizz before they can go at it again. The faster they are, the quicker they will be ready to breed again. (This is a good time to swap them into a Garden and put them to work!)
  • If you don't have a 🍆, you can say "Bye!" to any of your Kitties. They will be 😿, but will give you 1 🍆 as a parting gift. Alternatively, 🍆 can be found in the store!
Obtain 🍆 from the store for beans

Although you'll be able to buy Garden Eggs and 🍆 with beans in the storefront, be aware that all your Garden Variety Kitties, 🍆, and Boosts from Gardens will go away forever once the ZEN Garden Chasing Rainbows Event ends at the end of the season. The memories will last a lifetime, though!

Work, Work

Worker Kitties increase their Garden's power while they are working. Once placed, they cannot be removed, but can be swapped with other Kitties.

  • Unlock the Rock Garden (ZEN Per Second Garden), Tea Garden (Accumulation Per Second Garden) and Paradise Garden (Pet Bonus Garden) by completing quests.
Place Kitty workers to increase your bonuses!
  • In the Rock Garden, a Kitty's COLOUR determines how well it gardens. More Garden power here equates to a larger ZEN per second (ZPS) boost! Note that if multiple Kitties are the same colour, only one of these can contribute to your ZPS Boost. Variety is the spice of life... and the spice of Gardens! Slower Kitties are less effective, so try to obtain the best mutations at the fastest possible speeds to earn up to a +180% ZPS Boost with this garden!
  • In the Tea Garden, a Kitty's BODY determines how well it gardens. More Garden power here equates to a larger boost to the ZEN the big egg accumulates per second (APS). Be careful when placing Kitties in empty slots as this can limit the number of Kitties you have available to breed or go into other Gardens. As rule of thumb, breed first, place Kitties later.
  • In the Paradise Garden, a Kitty's PATTERN is what matters. When you put three Kitties to work each with unique patterns, you'll increase your Pet Bonus (PB). Breed and place Kitties with the three most powerful Patterns at the best possible speeds and you could increase this to a full +105% PB Boost!

How Breeding & Mutations Work:

Each Garden Variety Kitty has a Cattribute in each of three key categories:

  1. Colour
  2. Body
  3. Pattern

When you breed two Kitties together:

  • Each Cattribute (Colour, Body, and Pattern) generally has a 50% chance of being inherited from either parent.
  • If both parents share the same BASIC Cattribute, their offspring is guaranteed to inherit it.
  • Every time a Kitty breeds, they lose one tick of speed. Offspring of slower Kitties will also be slower, so faster Kitties make the best breeders, and the best workers! Once your Kitty slows down too much, it may be time to say goodbye to them.
    • Brisk (100% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 12 hour cooldown
    • Plodding (80% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 18 hour cooldown
    • V. Plodding (60% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 24 hour cooldown
    • Slow (50% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 36 hour cooldown
    • V. Slow (40% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 48 hour cooldown
    • Catatonic (10% ZEN Garden Effectiveness) - 168 hour cooldown
  • Offspring are always one tick slower than their slowest parent (at time of breed), so if you breed a Brisk Kitty with a Slow Kitty, the offspring will be born V. Slow! The only exception is Catatonic, as no Kitties will ever be slower than Catatonic.
  • Garden eggs from the store and from Quest Rewards will always contain Basic Cattributes at Brisk speed.
  • In addition to breeding two of your own Kitties together, you may be able to breed with other players' Kitties in the Love Den: the siring marketplace.
  • When you breed with a Kitty in the Love Den, it goes on cooldown and returns to its owner. You must pay whatever fee that Kitty's owner is asking, which can be 1 or more additional 🍆 (in addition to the 1 🍆 cost to breed), which the Kitty's owner will be able to claim.
  • You also have the option to send your Kitties to the Love Den and make available for other players to breed. Your Kitty will return slower and on cooldown, but you'll earn whatever 🍆 fee you set. If nobody breeds with your Kitty and you want to recall them, you may unsire them, though you will receive no 🍆 for this and your Kitty will enter a cooldown period before they can breed.
  • If the parents have mutating pairs of Cattributes (see below!), there is a 33% chance the offspring will acquire a new mutated Cattribute instead. A couple Basic Cattributes (Namely Saskatoonfinch and Glacialglow) have a choice or more than one mutating pairs, meaning they can breed with either of two different Cattributes to achieve a different potential Mutation in each case!
  • Mutated Cattributes are more effective in Gardens but cannot be passed down, making them especially rare and valuable.
  • Mutation chains—where mutations lead to even stronger mutations—are exceptionally rare but offer huge boosts in the right Gardens. There are even more Kitty Colour Cattributes than other types, meaning Kitties can reach third order Mutations (M3 Cattributes)!

Mutation Examples:

  • Breed a Shonki Body Kitty with a Shotaku Body Kitty → 33% chance to mutate and produce a Doodly Body offspring (stronger in the Tea Garden).
  • Mapleglow Color + Glacialglow Color33% chance to mutate into Sprucetip Color (boosts Rock Garden power).

Mutation Chains:

  • Some mutations lead to even stronger mutations!
  • Doodly Body + Hackly Body33% chance to mutate into Dreambod, which is up to 5.28× stronger in the Tea Garden than a basic Body, even though Dreambod can only appear on V Plodding Kitties.
