CryptoKitties: All The Zen!

WEBSITE INFORMATION

Privacy & tracking

This notice explains the measurement and diagnostics used on the All The Zen! website.

Website visits and Play clicks

The website creates a random visitor identifier and stores it in your browser’s local storage under atz.marketing.visitor.v1. This helps measure visits and clicks on Play, including “PLAY MEOW,” across visits. If local storage is unavailable, the identifier stays in memory for the current page session.

When you visit the homepage or click Play, the browser can send an event to our server with that visitor identifier, a random event identifier, the event type, and a valid campaign code from the website address’s v parameter. The server uses these events to measure website traffic and the path from a visit to a Play click. Event identifiers help prevent retries from counting twice. The website does not use browser fingerprinting for this measurement. The event database does not store IP addresses. Where a trusted hosting IP header is available, the server hashes the IP for temporary rate limiting in Redis. Hosting and diagnostic services have their own request processing.

Campaign links and Telegram

A valid campaign code is carried through website guide links and passed to Telegram’s startapp link when you choose Play. The game may record that code as acquisition information for a Telegram account. Opening Telegram takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices.

Diagnostics and hosting

This application also uses Sentry for error monitoring and Vercel for hosting. These services can process technical request information and diagnostics. Sentry is configured to send default personally identifiable information, so the application’s overall diagnostics should not be treated as anonymous-only. Errors and request context can include information beyond the random website visitor identifier.

Optional Meta advertising measurement on /play

The ad landing page at /play can use the Meta Pixel to measure page visits (PageView) and Play clicks (Lead). A Lead means someone clicked through to the Telegram game; it does not confirm a game registration. The main homepage, guide pages, game, and admin pages do not enable Pixel measurement.

The standard Meta script can send Meta the page address, IP address, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. An ad link’s address can contain its campaign code and Meta’s click identifier (fbclid). The custom event information we supply consists of a random event identifier and, for Play clicks, the validated campaign code as content_name. We do not supply names, email addresses, phone numbers, or advanced matching information to the Pixel. This does not make the standard Pixel anonymous; Meta processes the technical information it receives under its own privacy policy.

In the UK, and wherever the visitor’s country cannot be established or another country is detected, Meta measurement stays off until you choose Accept. For this test, visits identified as Argentina enable Meta measurement without an initial prompt, unless you previously declined. You can use Ad privacy in the footer on /play to accept or decline at any time. Declining or withdrawing stops subsequent Pixel events from this page; it does not retract events already sent to Meta.

Your Meta choice is stored in local storage under atz:meta-ad-consent:v1 for up to 180 days. When storage is blocked, the choice stays in memory for the current page session. This choice applies to optional Meta advertising measurement. The application’s own campaign visit and Play-click measurement described above continues independently, and the game remains available either way.

Your browser storage

You can remove the visitor identifier by clearing this site’s local storage in your browser settings. A later visit may create a new identifier. Blocking storage keeps the identifier in memory; it does not necessarily prevent a visit or click event from being sent.
